Custom Acrylic Awards for Con Giorgia per la Vita

Some projects arrive with a brief that goes beyond corporate recognition. This one came with a story — a children's literary competition dedicated to a young girl named Giorgia, run by an association that carries her memory forward through creativity and storytelling.

For the XI Edizione of "Storie di Carta in Cartone" — an international creative writing competition organized by Associazione Con Giorgia per la Vita — we designed and produced a complete set of custom awards and medals for winners across all age categories: Bambini, Ragazzi, Adulti, and Estero.

01 — The Event

A Literary Competition That Needed Awards to Match Its Spirit

The "Storie di Carta in Cartone" competition celebrates children's creative writing in its most expressive form. Participants range from young schoolchildren to adult writers, each competing with original stories across multiple sections.

The association's goal was clear: the awards needed to feel meaningful, handcrafted, and visually memorable — not generic trophies, but objects that reflect the imagination and warmth the competition stands for. Each piece had to be fully personalized with the recipient's name, category, and winning work.

Every single award was unique. Same design, different story — because every winner had their own name, school, category, and literary work engraved on their piece.

02 — What We Made

Two Custom Award Formats, One Cohesive Design

We produced two distinct types of recognition pieces, each using a combination of natural wood and UV-printed acrylic to bring the competition's illustrated artwork to life.

🏅 Award Plaques
  • Book-shaped acrylic with full UV print
  • Wooden triangular base stand
  • Personalized text per recipient
  • Butterfly & storybook illustration
  • For 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winners
🎖 Medals
  • Round plywood outer frame
  • UV-printed acrylic insert
  • Black satin ribbon
  • Personalized per recipient
  • For Special Mention winners

03 — Design & Production

UV Print on Acrylic: Bringing Illustration to Life

The visual concept was provided by the association — a detailed illustration featuring a butterfly, open books, clouds, stars, and autumn leaves, rendered in a dreamy palette of blues, purples, and warm tones. Our job was to transfer this artwork onto the awards with full fidelity and precision.

Plaque Material
Transparent acrylic, custom contour cut
Medal Material
Plywood frame + acrylic UV insert
Print Method
UV direct print — full colour, high detail
Base / Stand
Natural wood, triangular pyramid shape
Personalisation
Unique text per award — name, category, work title
Ribbon
Black satin, medals only

UV printing on transparent acrylic creates a layered visual effect — the artwork appears to float inside the material, catching light differently from every angle. Combined with the natural wood base, each piece has both tactile warmth and visual depth.

04 — Result

Recognition That Feels as Special as the Occasion

The finished awards were distributed across all winner categories at the XI Edizione ceremony — from young children receiving their first literary recognition to adult writers acknowledged for their storytelling. Each piece was identical in design but entirely personal in content.

Who This Works For

Ideal for Cultural & Literary Events

This award format — UV-printed acrylic with a custom shape and wooden stand — works beautifully for any event where the recognition piece should reflect the spirit of the occasion:

  • Children's and youth literary competitions
  • Creative writing and arts awards
  • Cultural association ceremonies
  • School and academic recognition events
  • Memorial competitions and tribute events

The combination of full-colour UV print and natural wood means the design can carry any illustration — from playful and colourful to minimal and elegant — without compromise.
